It's been a while...so I thought I'd update you with some tidbits from life, and other news.
I'm part of a new project at the moment, CC Block Style--a tribute to fashion, costumes, and squirrels at CC. Whether or not we'll continue this effort after graduation in May is up in the air, but hopefully it will go on... you can find it here!
The last six months have been some of the busiest of my life! I worked two jobs this summer (at PCC Natural Markets in Seattle and at the Seattle Art Museum), both tiring and exciting but fun. I turned 21 and dragged a bunch of straight people to ReBar for Bacon Strip (if you've never gone, it's a great continuing drag show that happens every first Saturday of the month).
And the most exciting news in my life at the moment is that I am a finalist for the Watson fellowship! My project revolves around the connections women make through textile arts, and would allow me to visit women's collectives, individual artists, micro-enterprises, and other incredible and creative women who have found a calling in fiber arts. While we wait for that news (I don't find out until March!), I can at least try to keep you entertained with some project photos, like this galaxy dress I made this past semester:
And what else? Lots of cooking has been happening recently--I'll try to post photos as it continues! Otherwise, keep in touch, and enjoy the new year!
Lots of love,
Natalia
